More About Your Hostess
Born and raised in North Carolina, Brooke is a small town girl who sweats Southern hospitality through the four seasons of pollen, tornado, football and summer. You know that kind of gal: the kind who gives and receives directions by landmarks; smiles, nods and waves whether she knows you or not; bonds with the clerk at the store and hugs her by the time check out is complete; feeds you on a visit, and takes a long time to finish the goodbye.
With three decades of marriage, including lay and vocational ministry, two decades of home schooling with preteen to married adult children, crisis, tragedies, foster parenting, adoption, health complications and more, Brooke knows that life is full of wins and losses. Sometimes, there are just glorious wins where things go right. She also knows that life is filled with sorrows, where things go so very wrong.
Brooke understands what it is to feel overwhelmed, tired, and broken; yet, desire for God to bring honor and glory to Himself in the midst of the heartache and difficulty. Through these times, she puts one foot in front of the other, but may be uncertain if she is moving in the right direction or fears exactly where that foot forward might land. She cries out to Jesus, but needs helpers to come alongside her. God designed each of us this way, for community with discipleship to run the race set before us. By God’s grace, He sent helpers to Brooke in her times of greatest need.
Because of this, Brooke’s heart is to lead others to find the strength and joy possible in Christ that she gains during life’s most pressing moments. She shares wisdom from the Bible and life experiences on the practical side of things. Brooke specifically talks and writes about parenting kids with every type of need to live out their purposes in the Lord, growing in marriage (when you are the generation of change), and balancing every day life when grieving or battling health issues. These things happen with an amazing flourish as we serve a mighty Creator, who weaves an extraordinary life tapestry for each one of His own.
Please join Brooke for laughs and tears and creative fun to help roll the stress away. It would be better if Brooke could feed you right now, but we pray that you may feast on what the Lord gives through your time here. Your visit means so much to us! Come anytime!
“The Christian is the one whose imagination should fly beyond the stars.”
